Vendor Gun Show Information
2008, January 31
Your contract is with Dunes Rifle & Pistol Club, LLC.
Please read it carefully.
The show is held at the Porter County Expo Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. The Expo Center is on the Porter County Fairgrounds, 1.3 miles south of US30 on Indiana 49.
Table rate is $ 50 per table for the run of the show. If you need electricity, you will be charged an additional $ 10 for the weekend.
You need to check in before you set up. Ask the Club’s table boss (currently: Bob B.) for a new nametag when you check in. You need a nametag for each member of your company that will be at the show.
When you are issued your nametag(s), you must provide us with your name, business name, current address and current telephone number. We need this information for legal reasons. This also holds true for supplying us with your FFL number. This is for your protection as well as ours.
Nametags issued at previous shows are invalid. You must obtain new nametags.
Table charges are payable before you set up for the show, as are any past-due amounts. You will not be permitted to set up if you do not pay the charges when you check in! See Rich to pay your pending charges.
Set up time is from 5:00pm until 9:00pm on Friday evening.
You will be invited to reserve your tables for the next show in advance. Your rewards for doing so are that you ensure you get the number of tables you need. The Club will also attempt to place you at the location you currently have, or perhaps move you to a location that you might prefer. (No promises on that last bit!) The current table rate will then be discounted $ 5 per table when you pay in advance. Rich will come to see you about this on Sunday.
The Expo Center gates close at 9:00pm, and open at 6:00am for vendors only.
Show hours are from 8:00am until 5:00pm on Saturday, and from 9:00am until 3:00pm on Sunday.
Vendors are expected to keep their setups operational until closing time on each day. Please do not start packing up your goods on Sunday afternoon before 3:00pm.
If you need to speak with the Club about some show issue that deals with financial transactions for the show, talk with Rich. If there are table assignment or location problems, see Bob B. If your situation cannot be addressed by them, then ask for a sit-down with the appropriate people along with Mike G. and George H.
Please remember that you are responsible for any damage that you cause.
Pets can be accomodated only with prior Club authorisation. Pets cannot be where there is carpeting. If your tables are on concrete, then you are okay. Check with the Club. Always. Get authorisation to bring your pet before the show.
Porter County Expo Center is totally non-smoking. You may smoke outside.
The Club arranges for 24/7 security for the weekend, either by Porter County Sheriff’s deputies, or Club members, or both.
There are several motels nearby in Valparaiso if you need to stay over. A wealth of restaurants are also close by, ranging from fast food to white tablecloth service. Nearby Merrillville offers even more lodging and dining choices thirty minutes away.
If you do bring your pet, be aware that there are five motels in Merrillville that will allow you one companion animal per room: LaQuinta, Motel 6, Red Roof Inn, Residence Inn by Mariott, and Super 8.
There is a hospital minutes away in Valparaiso.
